No one likes to fail. This is not rocket science at all, I know. But it’s true. However, even though we don’t like to fail, the act of failing is something we all must experience at one point or another…or many points, to be honest!
As an overachiever myself, I know the feeling of dread at failing in something. Even receiving a B grade on something feels like I have failed. Why? Maybe because I know that there is something I could have improved to make that B an A. And while even after this post I will continue to struggle with this, I am here to tell you all that failing is simply a part of learning. When we fail at something, we have two choices:
1) Give up completely
2) Get back up and try again.
You know, the old phrase, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again,” this is where that whole philosophy comes in to play. So when considering the idea of failing at something I decided to look back upon times I have failed to “find” the gifts we receive when we fail.
So today I challenge you to embrace your failures along with your success. I challenge you to be courageous and get back up! Everyone has to experience failure, I say lets face it with our heads held high, ready to learn and become better people!
